learning to play

Everett is at the stage where he is learning to play with the boys, and the boys are at the stage where they are having to learn how to play with a pushy, toy taking, everythings mine, toy smashing baby brother!  Somedays it is so, so much work trying to keep everyone happy, and sane.  Ev hits one on the head and the other had his toy stolen and then they are instantly in an all out wrestling match.  I have started describing them as what you see on cartoons when they are fighting and dust is flying and things are popping out of the dustball!!  Yah- thats my boys…

But we are learning.  Learning takes alot of patience- something that i find the boys have more often than me.  But these are the days that i am totally passionate about- the ones where no adult chores are on the “to do” list.  And the ones where i can fully indulge in playing and laughing and dreaming and pretending.  While protecting a very important train town; hauling coal from the coal mine from a baby monster!!!!

You will never have this day with your children again.

Today is a gift.

Breathe and notice.

Study their little faces and feet.

Relish the charms of the present.

Enjoy today mama, it will be gone before you know it.
