bugs and bisquits

Bugs and Bisquits don’t really go together that well.  But i wanted to show you what Kai found and was in love with.  I have no idea what kind of bug this was but it sure was hairy.  The hairy bug found a home in a jar and for the rest of the day Kai carried it around!  What surprised me was the Cash did not want to touch it, and usually i think of him as the braver of the two!  So i was pretty excited to see Kai so excited and interested in this hairy bug!

Now i want to give you my favorite breakfast biscuit called- the cinnamon breakfast biscuit!

Everytime i make these they turn out perfectly wonderful.  We eat them for breakfast as the name tells us to covered in as much real butter and honey as we can pile on them!!

1 3/4c flour

1/4c wheat bran- i use oat bran

2T sugar

1T baking powder

1/2 tsp cinnamon

1/4 tsp salt

1/2c butter

2/3c milk

Set your oven to 450*

1. In a medium bowl combine all the dry ingredients.  Using a pastry blender add the butter.  When the mixture looks like big crumbs make a well and add the milk.  Stir with a fork until just combined.

2. Turn out on to lightly floured surface and knead by folding and gently pressing dough for 10-12 strokes.  Until dough is nearly smooth.  Pat out to no less than 1/2 inch thick ( i think mine is closer to 3/4″). Cut dough into circles.

3. Place on an ungreased pan and bake for 10-12 minutes- until golden.

4. Eat with lots of butter and honey!
