I have not been able to “get going” this week after “holidays”!! I am pooped out and so are the boys. I have not done any house work really to make a note of. I am starting to feel yucky because of it- this is how bad habits are formed.
But today i put Ev down for an afternoon nap and went out to play with the boys in my favorite thing in the whole world! WINTER RUNOFF!!
We walked all over the pasture looking for “rivers” and things moving. Kai made us walk to the top of a hill so that he could see everything, and he was not disapointed. This was exciting for me to dream about next spring as i will be watching them from in my kitchen, and this pasture will be our backyard!! We played and played and forded and forded through the water. The boys were so wet when we were done and their legs were so cold!
The boys kept seeing a small fox running around and over and over i let them know it was only Lucy. Cash carried his digging shovel with him to check things as we went along.
I am really excited for these next years as they begin to learn so many more things about our life and little world! I love watching them explore our “backyard” to find so many wonderful treasures.
“Normal Day, let me be aware of the treasure you are. Let me learn from you, love you, bless you before you depart. Let me not pass you by in some quest of some rare and perfect tomorrow. Let me hold you while I may, for it may not always be so. One day I shall dig my nails in the earth, or bury my face in the pillow, or stretch myself taut, or raise my hands to the sky and want, more than all the world, your return. ” Mary Jean Iron
