Enter the sticker chart…
Sometimes you just need a fresh aproach. Enter the sticker chart, the boys are really into stickers so i thought we should try this out for a bit and see how it goes.
The other day the boys and i laid the chart out on the floor and started thinking of some jobs/attitudes to put on our chart that they would like to get stickers for.
We came up with these-
1. pee on the potty
2. put your jacket and shoes in the porch
3. eat you food at mealtime
4. no whining all day
5. play nice with your brother
6. clean up your toys
7. obey daddy and mommy
I really hope that this chart will work for a few weeks at least. The boys have been wonderful, i too have been wonderful by the way. I have been using this chart to remind them during the day- to play nice, eat your food, etc… and in doing so i have been more patient with the boys, there has been less threatening, less hollering, and i have been way more helpful to them so that they will recieve a sticker after supper when we talk about the day we had. I am really excited for them and me!
There are a few things on the chart that are really important to me 4. no whining all day, 5. play nice with your brother, and 7. obey daddy and mommy. These are the ones i want to become good strong habbits, the boys play together quite well, there is alot of toy taking and then toy retreaving. Kai needs lots of help with the no whining, he has alot of melt downs over very small things and it does not take very much to upset him. So i really want to work on that one and beat it. Obeying daddy and mommy they do very well for their age, i think. It is always good to keep working on that one though- i know it goes back and forth. A few times a year i notice that our life is crazy and the boys are wild, they are just testing the rules just to see who is still the boss. I am happy to say that Joel and i are still on top.
